It’s 2019 and the phrase “New Year, New Me” officially expired in my vocabulary. After reading BuzzFeed’s latest article on How Millennials Became The Burnout Generation, I decided to adopt a more realistic resolution; use more positive communication.
Entering the new year, I am going to push myself harder to achieve my personal/professional goals while keeping my mind open and outlook positive. My main focus in 2019 is to grow into a happier, more efficient version of myself.
“Millennials capacity to burn out and keep working is our greatest value.” – Anne Helen Petersen, BuzzFeed News
Last year was the busiest, most productive year of my life. I am proud to say in 2018, I graduated Magna Cum Laude with two bachelor degrees, rewarded myself to a spectacular $300 dinner in Las Vegas (Gordan Ramsay’s Steakhouse – highly recommend), started a kickboxing class and traveled solo to new environments to be more comfortable with uncertainty. I met amazing people along my journey and was lucky enough to hear their stories.
I refuse to let 2018 be my highest peak of personal success. I realized the power of the mind is unlimited. I am excited for what 2019 will bring. Life is meant to be filled with friends, family and adventures. I will work hard to grow as an individual, be my genuine self and help others along the journey.
Cheers to a new year and a positive outlook.
