14 Creative Apps That Make Social Media Easy in 2018

These applications are ordered alphabetically. I am not endorsed, being asked to do this or an influencer recommending these programs. I created my best work using these applications.


Function:

This app makes creating content and designs easier than ever. It turns your phone into a vector art studio. I captured the image on the left and instantly created the pattern pictured to the right.

What I Liked The Most:

How easy it was to capture the image and create a unique vector design. I can easily transfer the pictures to other Adobe Creative Cloud Apps.

What I Liked The Least:

No complaints so far!

Adobe Creative Cloud may require a subscription for advanced features.
Function:

Turns posters, documents and any other physical file into a shareable PDF document.

What I Liked The Most:

The auto-capture feature. This camera mode takes the picture instantly to be exported and saved into a shareable PDF file.

What I Liked The Least:

Sometimes the lighting can throw off the design of the document. When that happens you are better off scanning the file and saving it manually. Keep in mind when auto-capture mode is on, it continuously takes pictures.

Adobe Scan (for iPhone) full functionality requires Adobe Document Cloud subscription, starting at $9.99 per month.

Function:

Create web pages, engaging layouts, branded images and content in a short amount of time. Let’s you remix others templates and design compelling images.

What I Liked The Most:

I literally made high-quality content within minutes. Including graphics, videos and landing pages.

What I Liked The Least:

Using this application on a mobile device is more convenient than using a desktop computer.

It is included with every Adobe Creative Cloud plan or available for purchase as a stand-alone plan either on the Spark website or via in-app purchase in the Spark iOS apps. Pricing is $9.99 month with no annual commitment or $99.99 per year.

Function:

I mostly used it to create a landing page for client projects. This application made it easy to create professional web pages. Even tells you how many people have clicked on your link.

What I Liked The Most:

The web pages I created were sleek, modern and looked like a magazine layout. It made the web page visually appealing.

What I Liked The Least:

The layout is pretty straightforward. There is only so much you change from the layouts they give you.

It is included with every Adobe Creative Cloud plan.

Function:

Buffer is for any individual or business who want to organize all their social accounts in one area. You can schedule your posts and plan the hashtags you would like to use.

What I Liked The Most:

I like how convenient and easy it is for me to schedule my personal and professional social media accounts. I can use this program with other applications seamlessly.  The mobile application is just as easy to use as the desktop program.

What I Liked The Least:

Buffer from what I have noticed is mainly for scheduling messages, replying to messages sent from your audience and a platform where you can analyze your social media efforts. I like an application that does it all. This app is mainly for folks who need to publish their social media on the go.

Pricing:

Price starts at $0 – $400. Buffer charges your account according to the number of social media profiles you have connected. You can link up to three social media profiles for free. If you wanted to access the social media analytics, calendar view or other advanced features, you would have to upgrade to the Pro or Business plans.

Function:

Web and print media graphic-design tool website. The application has a drag-and-drop format which makes it easy to use for any non-designer or professional.

What I Liked The Most:

THIS SAVED MY LIFE ON MULTIPLE PROJECTS! If you aren’t a graphic designer, boy-oh-boy does this save you time. I created marketing campaigns, social media posts and even communication presentations with this application in a timely manner.

What I Liked The Least:

Formatting could be your worst enemy. Before Indesign, I remember building my resume on Canva and it took me hours to fix the format to the way I needed it to look. It was frustrating but the more you use it, the better you get at it.

Pricing:

The free plan includes two folders to organize designs, 1GB of media storage, access to more than 8,000 templates and you can upload your images. They offer a free 30 day trial underneath Canva for Work. Included in this plan is the option to magically resize your creations, free stock images, custom branding, download designs with transparent backgrounds and export designs as animated GIFs.

Function:

Crello is an online image editor. You can create social media posts, covers, graphics and marketing posters using the templates they provide.

What I Liked The Most:

I love the simplicity of the application. I like how they organize their content and templates. It makes it super easy for me to search the topic I am interested in and find an image that relates to the message I am crafting. If I needed to reformat the design, it let me change it with ease.

What I Liked The Least:

Not many I can think of. My only negative is there aren’t enough templates! This could be because I was using Crello as a free member.

Pricing:

The free option includes most designs and animations. Resizing and animations are not available with the free account. If you wanted to go Crello PRO for $8.30 a month, your membership includes full access to the animated formats without the watermarks, free stock images, animations and other advanced features to share your work.

Evernote is used to help you become more productive. It helps capture your ideas and organize them in one convenient place.

What I Liked The Most:

The web clipping option hands down. I have so many ideas that randomly pop into my head at times and this application keeps my thoughts organized the way I want it to be.

What I Liked The Least:

No complaints so far. I have used this application now for about two months.

Function:

FotoRus is used for individuals to make professional edits, beautify their portraits, add special effects, stickers and create memes.

What I Liked The Most:

The editing features this application offers! I can beautify my selfies or filter them underneath the pro-edit feature to make them look professionally taken.  It made regular pictures into works of art.

What I Liked The Least:

Ads can get annoying when using the application for free.

What I Liked The Most:

The filters were anything but basic. Ever since I was introduced to this application, I have made it my primary camera to take pictures for my blog. You can easily edit photos as you take them or edit pictures/videos from your camera roll.

What I Liked The Least:

I love this application. I have no complaints yet!

Grammarly is basically a writing assistant to help fix your grammar, punctuation and spelling errors.

What I Liked The Most:

This application has saved me many embarrassing typos. It acts like a mini-writing assistant! I have this application installed on my browser, desktop and iPhone. I can even adjust the settings to match the style of writing I am using.

What I Liked The Least:

The application removes the links if I import a document with hyperlinks. I have to make sure I save the URL addresses before pasting the text in the Grammarly document checker.

What I Liked The Most:

The dashboard feature. As soon as I logged in, I was able to take a look at what’s happening on all my social media profiles. Plus, I enjoyed the convenience of having a platform that analyzes, schedules and finds content relevant to my audience needs.

What I Liked The Least:

If you have a free membership, you don’t have access to the applications or social media analytics.
